Report: Rosneft may start development of Kurdistan fields in Aug

MOSCOW, Jul 24 (PRIME) -- Russian oil major Rosneft has sent a delegation to the Duhok Province of the Iraqi Kurdistan in order to discuss the start of development of three oilfields in August, Kurdish television channel Rudaw reported on Tuesday quoting Duhok Vice Governor Behzad Ali Adam.

Oil production at the three fields is to reach 180,000 barrels a day. “We’ve discussed mechanisms of management with representatives of Rosneft. They are to launch temporary accommodation camps in places of work very soon,” Ali Adam said as cited by the news channel.

In February 2017, Rosneft and the government of the Iraqi Kurdistan signed an agreement on cooperation in the oil sector and a contract on purchases and sales of oil for 2017–2019. In October 2017, the company and the government signed documents necessary for production sharing agreements on development of five oil blocks in the region.
